Implementation step 1
This is an image which describe the process a school can go through in order to implement a model of instruction. At this stage within our small group we have been developing a language of instruction and have started as a group to develop a systematic way for teachers to interact about instruction using the model.
We have continued to discuss the model and how we could use it for teacher reflection. Yesterday Kylie reported back on the process she went to. She discussed her lesson and how she was basing it on Design Question 1 and specifically the strategy tracking student progress. She used Marzano's teacher evaluation model to create it using Teacher and student evidence and then created some generic questions for the following page to help reflection.
This is what she came up with. We then watched Kylie's segment and looked at using this form for Kylie's segment. Also during this session it was also shared an article about the 8 strategies that both Marzano and Hattie both agree on. During that session I also shared some pedagogical frameworks from schools that use ASOT that could be adapted and changed. From looking at these examples we realised that these 41 instructional strategies would need to be edited and changed to make them more user friendly to use in the instructional process. From this session Blair and Helen decided to redo DQ1 that Kylie and Scott did to make the language more user friendly.
