My Turn
This week we needed to film ourselves in preparation for looking at it at our shared learning meeting. Last week Scott said he had found it very confronting and it wasnt until I did the same task that I understood what he meant. I filmed myself twice Firstly on Monday with my year 12 Film class and then also on Tuesday with my year 10 film class. I find watching this so difficult especially how I sounded and my mannerisms while I was talking. It really made me aware of the small things that I do as a teacher and how they impact the lesson. It showed me that sometimes my pace was a bit slow. One thing I was happy with was the use of learning intentions and success criteria and how important they are for students so to combat the issue of students remembeing I create a google slides file and share it with the students. I also try to remember and I did it out of one of the two lessons to connect back to the success crtiteria to make sure that we achieved those criteria. I know I need to do this better - my plan now is to create a checklist for my lesson observation to see if it is effective. To be continued...
